Looking Great All Winter Long!

The Leaves Are Falling!

In preparation of the winter months, we have a few suggestions to keep your home in great shape and look-ing good year round!

The winds have started bringing leaves down in force. It is important to regularly remove leaves to protect the health of your lawn. If the leaves are coming down faster than you can handle, we would be happy to help you by scheduling an interim leaf clean-up. Then, once all the leaves are off the trees, we can come back out for a thorough clean-up of your lawn, beds, ground cover, window wells and hard surfaces. We also recommend a final short mowing to keep your lawn looking good all win-ter long. If you are a current mowing customer, you are already signed up for these services, and do not need to do anything else!

We will be beginning final clean-ups following Thanksgiving, and hope to have them completed prior to the holidays, weather permitting.

If you need everything looking great by a certain date, please let us know, and we are happy to work with you!

Protect Your Shrubs From Winter Damage!

Cold winter temperatures limit the amount of moisture your plants can take in through their roots, while the dry air and winter winds dehydrate plants further. The resulting damage kills leaves, causing them to turn brown and drop to the ground, and in severe cases can kill shrubs. Winter Burn protection is an anti-desiccant spray which creates a protective layer that locks in moisture and reduces wind damage. We apply this to all of our Shrub & Bed customers already, however after seeing how well is worked during last year's ex-treme weather, we are offering it to other customers this year as well! Sign up now to keep your shrubs protected all winter long!

Year End Pruning

Late fall and winter are also a great time for pruning. Once the leaves have dropped, it's much easier to see where work needs to be done. Additionally, plants are less active during the cooler months making winter the right time to prune many types of plants. Slower growth also means your property looks neat for a longer time!

Gutter Cleaning

Don't forget, gutters should be checked and cleaned before winter! If you have already signed up for the Late Fall Gutter Cleaning, we will automatically route and schedule this ser-vice once all the leaves are down. If you have a number of leaves, your gutters may need to be cleaned before all the leaves are down—if this is the case, you can sign up for an interim gutter cleaning on the order form!

Winter Mulching

A top coating of premium double-shredded hardwood mulch serves a few important purposes. It provides a fresh look to your landscape during a time when most landscapes are lacking appeal. It also helps to lock in water, ensuring that your plants maintain the moisture that they need, as well as pro-viding the insulation needed to keep the roots of your plants healthy throughout the cold winter months!

This is especially important for those customers who may have missed mulching in the spring!

All services will be performed at our hourly rate of $55.00 per man, per hour, with a $118.00 minimum, plus the cost of materials.
